Cost per 1,000 emails at three volumes. Prices as published, September to October 2026.

Also cheap, but not in the top five: DeBounce lists $2.50, $1.35 and $0.75 per 1,000 at the same three volumes, and Reoon $1.19, $1.16 and $0.96. We cover DeBounce separately.

How we compared these tools

  • What we measured: the published pay-as-you-go price at 10,000, 100,000 and 1,000,000 credits, converted to cost per 1,000 emails.
  • What we added: smallest pack, whether credits expire, and whether unknown or risky results are billed, because these change what you actually pay.
  • What we did not measure: accuracy. Every accuracy figure in this market is the vendor’s own claim, and the claims are not comparable. ZeroBounce advertises 99.6% and MillionVerifier 99% or more. We explain how to test this on your own list below.
  • Subscriptions and enterprise quotes are excluded from the table because they depend on your plan. They are covered in each entry where relevant.
  • Bias: Gamalogic is one of the tools. We used the same method for all six and ordered the list by price, not by preference.

What ZeroBounce costs today

ZeroBounce sells credits in pay-as-you-go packs, and the price per credit falls as the pack grows. It also sells a subscription called ZeroBounce ONE.

5,000$69$13.80

1,000,000$3,199$3.20

ZeroBounce ONE is $99 a month ($79 on annual billing) with a 10,000-credit minimum, about $9.90 or $7.90 per 1,000. It also bundles warm-up, inbox placement tests, blacklist and DMARC monitoring, and email-finder searches. If you use those tools, the bundle can be worth it. If you only verify lists, you are paying for extras.

Credit expiry needs checking. ZeroBounce says credits do not expire while you have an active ONE subscription. For accounts created after 1 June 2026 without one, credits expire two years after the last payment . Read the current terms before stocking up on a large pack.

Why teams look for an alternative

  1. Price at small and medium volumes. At 10,000 credits ZeroBounce is $12.90 per 1,000, against $3.00 to $6.50 for the alternatives below.
  2. Paying for tools they do not use. The ONE subscription adds deliverability tools that a team verifying a list once a quarter may not need.
  3. Fine print. Minimum order (2,000 credits) and expiry rules differ from tools where purchased credits never expire.

The 5 alternatives, ordered by price at 100,000 credits

1. MillionVerifier: the lowest price at scale

10K100K1M
Cost per 1,000$3.90$1.49$0.45
Pack price$39$149$449
  • How it bills: risky results, including catch-all addresses, are not charged, and it refunds if hard bounces exceed 4% [source: MillionVerifier via Reoon’s snapshot].
  • Credits: never expire. New accounts get 100 free credits. A one-time 2,000-credit trial costs $4.90.
  • Strengths: the lowest published price from 100,000 credits upward. A simple credit-pack model with no subscription.
  • Limits: the smallest regular pack is 10,000 credits. “Not charged” for risky results does not mean they are resolved, so check what share of your list lands in that bucket.
  • Pick it if: you clean large lists and price is the main factor.
  • Pick ZeroBounce instead if: you need ONE’s bundled deliverability tools and support.

2. Gamalogic: low price at small volumes, with deeper checks on hard domains

10K100K1M
Cost per 1,000$3.00$1.50$0.80
Pack price$30$150$800
  • How it bills: : how unknown and catch-all results are charged.
  • Credits: never expire. New accounts get 500 free credits for 7 days.
  • Strengths: the lowest price of the six at 10,000 credits. Dedicated handling for catch-all domains, Secure Email Gateways and SMTP tarpitting, which are the places where basic checks mislabel addresses. Real-time results in under a second through the email validation API, plus bulk upload and a disposable and fake email checker.
  • Limits: MillionVerifier is $1 cheaper at 100,000 credits and 44% cheaper at 1,000,000. Gamalogic does not bundle warm-up or inbox-placement tools like ZeroBounce ONE [CONFIRM]. It has a smaller review base on G2 and Capterra than the larger vendors [CONFIRM current numbers].
  • Pick it if: you verify small and medium lists, or your list is heavy on corporate domains where catch-all and gateway behaviour causes bounces.
  • Pick ZeroBounce instead if: you need a deliverability suite or a compliance certificate we cannot match.

3. Bouncer: small packs, free unknowns and duplicates

10K100K1M
Cost per 1,000$6.00$4.00$2.00
Pack price$60$400$2,000
  • How it bills: unknowns and duplicates are free.
  • Credits: never expire. Packs start at 1,000 credits ($8), which suits small lists.
  • Strengths: a low entry point and a clear billing policy.
  • Limits: about 2.7 times MillionVerifier’s price per 1,000 at 100,000 credits. Its deliverability toolkit is sold separately, from $25 a month.
  • Pick it if: your lists are small or irregular.

4. Clearout: verification with an email finder in the same plan

10K100K1M
Cost per 1,000$6.50$4.00$1.40
Pack price$65$400$1,400
  • How it bills: unknowns are free or refunded; duplicates are free.
  • Credits: pay-as-you-go credits never expire, but deal-priced credits may. Its Pro 10K plan is $40 a month ($32 on annual billing). One-time prices on its page appear as “onwards”, so check what your size costs.
  • Strengths: third-cheapest at 1,000,000 credits among the five. Subscriptions add an email finder and prospecting features.
  • Limits: API rate limits are low on small plans (3 requests a minute on the free plan, 55 on Pro 10K, per Reoon’s snapshot). If you want to integrate a signup form, check the limit as closely as the price.
  • Pick it if: you want finding and verifying in one subscription.
  • See also: Gamalogic vs Clearout.

5. Emailable: a subscription discount for steady volume

10K100K1M
Cost per 1,000$6.00$4.20$2.10
Pack price$60$420$2,100
  • How it bills: unknowns and duplicates are refunded. A subscription takes 15% off any pack.
  • Credits: never expire. The smallest pack is 5,000 credits.
  • Strengths: a straightforward credit model and a refund policy that protects you from paying for unknowns.
  • Limits: the highest of the five at 100,000 and 1,000,000 credits, and the 5,000 minimum rules out very small lists.
  • Pick it if: your volume is steady and a subscription fits.

What it costs over a year: a worked example

Say you add 25,000 new contacts a month and verify them all. That is 300,000 verifications a year, or three 100,000-credit packs.

Yearly cost to verify 25,000 emails a month, using three 100,000-credit packs at each vendor

ToolThree packs of 100,000 creditsCompared with ZeroBounce
ZeroBounce$1,947n/a
Emailable$1,260saves $687
Bouncer$1,200saves $747
Clearout$1,200saves $747
Gamalogic$450saves $1,497
MillionVerifier$447saves $1,500

What this leaves out: free unknowns (which lower the bill at vendors that do not charge for them), subscription discounts, and the cost of a bad send. To weigh the savings against what bounces cost your campaigns, use our email revenue calculator.

Catch-all, unknowns and what you really pay for

A price per 1,000 only tells you part of the story. Two things change the real bill.

1. Unknown and risky results. Some mail servers will not say whether an address exists. The honest answer is “unknown”. ZeroBounce, Bouncer, Clearout and Emailable do not charge for them (free or refunded), and MillionVerifier does not charge for any risky result. If a large share of your list is on corporate domains, this matters as much as the headline rate.

2. Catch-all and protected domains. A catch-all domain accepts mail for any address, so a basic check learns nothing. Gateways and tarpits can also make valid addresses look invalid. A verifier that digs deeper costs more to run, so ask each vendor how it treats these results before you compare prices. For a plain-language explanation, see what catch-all emails are and why they bounce and how bounce rate affects deliverability.

How to switch from ZeroBounce without losing data

  1. Check your remaining credits and their expiry terms. Use them up rather than abandon them.
  2. Export a sample of 100 to 500 addresses with ZeroBounce’s results.
  3. Run the same sample through the tool you are considering, using its free credits.
  4. Compare the unknown and catch-all counts, not only valid and invalid. See how to check if an email is real to review borderline addresses by hand .
  5. Switch the API key and any integrations once you are satisfied. Our API alternatives guide covers what to compare on the developer side.

When to stay with ZeroBounce

  • You use ONE’s warm-up, inbox placement tests and blacklist and DMARC monitoring.
  • You need its 24/7 support or specific compliance certificates, and your alternative cannot match them.
  • You already hold a large pack, and the remaining credits make a switch pointless for now.

A lower price does not make a tool better for you. If ZeroBounce does what you need, the saving may not be worth the move.

FAQ

What is the cheapest ZeroBounce alternative?

Based on published prices (September to October 2026), MillionVerifier is cheapest from 100,000 credits upward ($1.49 per 1,000 at 100,000 and $0.45 at 1,000,000), and Gamalogic is cheapest of the six at 10,000 credits ($3.00 per 1,000).

How much does ZeroBounce cost per 1,000 emails?

On pay-as-you-go, from $19.50 at 2,000 credits down to $12.90 at 10,000, $6.49 at 100,000 and about $3.20 at 1,000,000.

Is ZeroBounce worth the higher price?

It can be if you use the extras bundled with ZeroBounce ONE (warm-up, inbox tests, monitoring) or need its support and compliance. If you only verify lists, you may be paying for features you do not use.

Do email verification credits expire?

It varies. Bouncer, Clearout, Emailable, MillionVerifier and Gamalogic say purchased credits do not expire (Clearout’s deal-priced credits may). ZeroBounce ties non-expiry to an active ONE subscription. Always check the current terms.

Are unknown and catch-all results charged?

Not at Gamalogic, Bouncer, Clearout or Emailable (free or refunded), and not at MillionVerifier for risky results.

Is pay-as-you-go or a subscription cheaper?

It depends on your rhythm. Steady monthly volume often favours a subscription. Occasional bulk cleaning favours non-expiring credit packs. For example, ZeroBounce ONE at $99 a month for 10,000 credits is $9.90 per 1,000, against $12.90 pay-as-you-go at the same volume.

Can I trust the accuracy figures vendors publish?

Treat them as claims. They are self-reported and measured on different data. The only figure worth trusting is one you measure on a sample of your own list.

How do I verify emails for free?

Most tools give free credits, including Gamalogic’s Free 500-credit trial and ZeroBounce’s 100 credits a month. You can also check a single address with the free Gamalogic’s fake email checker or read our guide on how to check if an email address is valid for free.

Conclusion

On price alone, every alternative here undercuts ZeroBounce’s pay-as-you-go rates, by 34% to 86% depending on the tool and volume. MillionVerifier wins at scale, Gamalogic at 10,000 credits, and ZeroBounce keeps an edge if you use its bundled tools. Check the fine print on expiry, minimums and unknowns, then test your top choice on a sample of your own list.
